I like to work with many mediums;
pastels, wood, material, paper, Styrofoam, oils, glass. I particularly
like a challenge that pushes me to expand that which I have already
attained. I have made banners using silk, liquid gold, sequence, gold
lame` and trimmed with fringe. I was recently re-introduced to
pyrography, as a vehicle for the replication of pet photos, this has
been challenging and exciting.
My earliest memories and art influences would be my mom. There was a
day when she decided to window paint Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus. To
my amazement she did a pretty good job. I was impressed and I remember
thinking to myself, I can do this! From that day on I started
experimenting with art. I painted a table with many eyes, though I was
probably 10 years of age, and it had a child's perspective, I was
proud of it. I had an ability that I think everybody possesses, as
well as the freedom to explore it. At my discretion I honed my
abilities with little encouragement. I stopped pursuing art until my
mid to late twenties.
I enjoy looking to God's creation and all that he has created.
Anything I do with my hands or my imagination I took to my master, the
teacher of all things.

I have a Bachelors of Art with a
double major of Art and Psychology. I also have a Masters of Science
in Psychology. I enjoy working with several mediums as an artist;
photography and ceramics are my forte. I also enjoy drawing with
charcoal, working with clay sculptures and pyrography. The skill of
pyrography was the precursor to beginning a degree as an Art major. To
this artist it is important to develop keen insight and a deeper
understanding of other individuals. The pursuit of psychology has
enhanced my appreciation for ones need or desire to express themselves
through multiple forms. Art is so subjective and is capable of
stimulating numerous emotions. As an artist, it is my hope that anyone
viewing my work may be stimulated to experience a deeper part of his
or her self.
